How to enrol in PaySmart

The Company will automatically enrol you in PaySmart from April 2008, unless you confirm that you don’t want to be included. To be excluded from PaySmart, you must notify the Pension Department of your decision by 31 March 2008.

If you advise that you do not wish to be included in PaySmart, you will have the opportunity to change your decision to participate in PaySmart on an annual basis. The first opportunity would be April 2009.

However, please note that you won’t be enrolled in PaySmart if you earn less than £6,000 a year, since some of your State benefits could be adversely affected. The minimum salary level for inclusion in PaySmart will be reviewed every year.
